Crescendo Design was founded in 2003. It's founding partners, Jon and Kandy Brouchoud, met while completing their Master's Degrees at the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. During this time, they studied together in Europe, where they became engaged, and later married in Dubuque, Iowa - Kandy's home town.

They practiced in Madison for 3 years before becoming caretakers of a 62 acre wildlife preserve on Lake Michigan called Kingfisher Farm, near Jon's home town of Manitowoc.
